H2O Cleanawater's first flush / stormwater diversion systems consist of a TS series oil water solids separator and programmable diversion system.
First Flush Systems are designed to ensure that the first 10mm (or designated amount) of rainfall flushes your wash area to sewer, with subsequent rainfall then discharged to stormwater, as required by industry guidelines and regulations.
During vehicle washing, water obtained from the mains supply is fed through a flow sensor to the pressure washer. This flow is monitored by the first flush controller and will continue indefinitely. In this 'wash mode' the control valve is actuated to ensure wash water is pumped to the oil water solids separator and sewer at all times the pressure washer is in use.
When mains water ceases to flow through the flow switch the diversion system senses that washing has ceased. If rain then occurs at any time and mains water flow is absent any pump operation will be recorded as the start of the 'flush cycle'.
A timer circuit is linked to the pump operation and will automatically switch discharge mode from 'separator to sewer' to 'storm water' once pump operation reaches a preset total time and will continue to remain in this mode until rain ceases and mains water use recommences.
